Salvador Dalí aporta al surrealisme una inescamotejable presència realista. Precisament perquè el corrent és contrari, la posició val la pena. Els somnis, l’inconscient, són inexpressables, incontrolables, merament personals, no tenen expressió possible. El nu d’una dona –diuen- es pot expressar amb un signe. ¿Hi pot haver, però, un signe millor que la forma concreta mateixa?

Salvador Dalí and Josep Pla coincided. Militant localists with a cosmopolitan mission, obsessed by the creation of rigorous and coherent artistic and literary work, decided to explain their world without limits of strength or of form. From their mutual desire for durability it was said repeatedly "faràs forat" (you will make a mark).

With the Salvador Dalí and Josep Pla, Coincidences exhibition, and the publication of its catalogue, we have been able to deepen our knowledge of the relationship between these two exceptional men from Empordà. The letters and notes created throughout their lives, Dalí's dedications, the words for the diffusion and analysis of Pla and their last collaboration in a common project demonstrate the respect and the complicity that brought them together.

Dalí esdevingué una curiosa barreja de localisme exacerbat, frenètic, i de dandisme cosmopolita, libèrrim, il·limitat.
